We print on ORGANIC cotton tshirts All Black Sheep Heap apparel are 100% organic cotton. Conventional cotton production uses more chemicals per unit area than any other crop and accounts for 16% of the world's pesticides ("Picking Cotton Carefully," Institute of Science in Society, March 2007). We source our t-shirts and baby clothes from Alternative Apparel and American Apparel, both of which offer organic and socially responsible options. We print on RECYCLED Fair Wage/Fair Labor cotton bags All Black Sheep Heap bags are made from 100% reclaimed post-industrial organic and natural cotton scrap. This scrap typically would be sent to the landfill, but EcoBags grabs it before it does, and we happily hand-print our designs onto it. We source all of our totes and lunch bags from Ecobags, which certifies that all of its products are Fair Wage/Fair Labor. |
