Black Sheep Heap Earns Green America’s Business Seal of Approval

(Brooklyn, NY) December 16, 2010 - Black Sheep Heap is thrilled to announce it has been awarded the Green America Business Seal of Approval.  The seal is presented to businesses that go beyond product and service quality to set the highest standards in environmental sustainability and social justice, and work to solve, rather than create, environmental and social problems.

To be considered for the Seal of Approval and earn a listing in the annual National Green Pages™, businesses complete a rigorous screening process to ensure they meet Green America’s standards for the environment, community and labor.

Black Sheep Heap is known for its unique, hand-printed organic cotton t-shirts and recycled cotton bags, which can be found in small shops in New York, California and other states around the country, as well as at www.blacksheepheap.com and on the cyber marketplaces Abe’s Market and Etsy. They partner with like-minded businesses and non-profits to raise awareness about environmental and food-related issues. They recycle a whole lot, live true to their message, and listen to their workers.

“We are proud to earn this Seal of Approval,” said Ms. Jen P. Harris, founder and President of Black Sheep Heap. “It’s one of the most respected and recognized symbols in the green marketplace.”

Black Sheep Heap is now an Approved member of the Green Business Network, a distinguished and celebrated group of companies that use their products and services as a vehicle for social and environmental change.
